yeah, who are the 10 best in the NFL right now
Here's where I get roasted. Biggin's 1b is the most overrated player in the NFL. Especially if you're talking about Rb's. There was a stat I saw a month or so ago that I'm going to use and I'm going to butcher it but here goes, it was something like unless he breaks a run over 50 yards the chances of him going over 100 yards go down significantly. He's a great play-maker and at any point in time he can go the distance, if he doesn't though his overall yardage for games is very pedestrian. I'm not sure I wouldn't put MJD at #1. I'd definately have TJ, MJD, AP, Gore, Rice, Jackson, and Turner just from Biggin's list ahead of CJ.
That is about like Barry Sanders. If I not mistaken Sanders has a stat that has him as one of the all time leading backs with negative yard carries, or something like that.
The explanation is this, if he doesn't break a run of over 50 yards he's more than likely to end up with 18 carries for 52 yards. Kind of like last week when he was hovering at about 70 yards for the game and then breaks a 30+ yard run on his last carry with less than 2 minutes to go to make his day look a lot better. He doesn't get the tough yards, he's a toss it around the end and try to break a long run player. That's great and he's one of the NFL's best players but he's overrated as in people saying he's the best back in football.
As for Starbuck's comment, the guy couldn't hold Barry Sanders jock either. Barry Sanders played on atrocious teams with atrocious OL's. Johnson plays on the best run blocking team in the NFL.
I love to watch (Lil Wayne) I mean Chris Johnson run, it at times is breathtaking but I don't think he is the best back, I think Peterson gets what he gets on pure talent he doesn't have Lil Wayne's speed but has good balance and can cut on a dime. I loved Barry Sanders he was like watching Jordan, but Emmitt Smith has all the records because he got every thing out of every carry. Good topic but I think maybe Peterson over Lil Wayne by a nose ring.
im sorry, but a man doesnt gain 2000 yards rushing on accident or breaking a long run every now and then. I still personally think its a toss up between him and AP, but id take CJ over AP in a playoff game.
