They probably just got smart and realized what the SS was for http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ I'm sure that Bowtie is next. We try and run a clean Blue Oval Board here. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/
On a serious note how do you like DSL Ron? I'm stuck with satellite and don't care for it.
Ditto here with "Stuck with Satellite" and don't care for it!
Oh Wait! There is a cloud in the sky and my connection is about to go! BA HUMBUG!!!!!
Twice the price for less then half the service!
Gary
Hello Ron,
New avatar too!
Off topic, you might recall about our exchanged regarding my humming 300B. No hum now! Solution: DC on the filaments!
regards,
Abe
Hey guys,
2 different message boards locked me out after changing my email address. Not sure why. At least this one let me back in!
compared to the dial up I had, DSL is wonderful! In fact, it seems to as fast as work. Except when it comes to download or upload. Still WAY better than dial up.
Abe,
Glad to hear DC filaments solved your hum! Had I mentioned that? All my DHT amps have DC filaments.
I'll have a new and improved Avatar shortly.

I'd rather push my Chevy than drive a furd!
Friends don't let friends, drive fords! (I actually have this on a T-shirt!) http://www.hostboard.com/forums/
But I am really not brand opinionated... :|
I really like Altec.
I had high speed cable until we moved 3 miles farther out of the already rural neighborhood and into a no high speed cable or DSL neighborhood. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ I looked into satelite, but settled on microwave broadband. About half the price of satelite and a bit better performance than DSL. Still not as good as cable... but tollerable. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/

Having recently switched to Time Warner owned high speed cable, i miss my DSL terribly. Comparatively my high speed cable ***** , but the phone company was raping us for over 120 bucks a month for a business account before we ever made a call. Something had to give. Since getting on cable, i seldom bother with downloads, too freekin slow and unreliable. I've vowed that the next visit from service personnel will be to remove their **** and i'll go back with DSL.
Hey Ronssssss, maybe your new name just needs to be dragged thru some mud to make it look old and nasty! :-)))))
We can do that for free!
Gary
Too late for Ron, (that new, low-post junior member), but it's not a bad idea to get a free hotmail, gmail, etc account to use for such things. Also comes in handy for those times when your cable gets shut off (hmmm...who would let that happen...?), and you resort to wardriving the 'hood using NetStumbler to search out some poor schlub's unencrypted access point in order to stay in touch with your friends. Of course, no one we know would ever have to stoop that low. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/
(Just in case you do though, an external antenna for your wireless card might be a big plus...I've heard that a properly deployed Pringles can makes an excellent hi-gain directional waveguide, but you hear all kinds of stuff. (Insert antenna into can 2-3/4" from closed end). http://www.hostboard.com/forums/
