Listening to one of his stereo LPs from 1961....Stereo 35mm vol2.
It's a very clean spatial sounding record...excellent!
Now I have to wonder why a technique that would remove wow and flutter from the recording process never caught on. Expense? Other difficulties?
I grew up in the city Theodore Case lived...the pioneer of getting sound on film...although this tidbit has nothing to do with this I just threw it in anyway... ;)
I tend to grab all those old Command Lp's from that era that I come across. Thing's like Pursuasive/Provocative Percussion, etc. Command was founded by Enoch in 1959 and features some of the really early stereo audiophile recordings.

A good playable pressing containing "Hernando's Hideaway" should be a pretty memorable experience on large format systems. The rest is as AA says, "elevator music", maybe surf style.:D: Are those provocative percussion series binaural recordings?
I just did a net rendezvous and captured a tidbit where Donald Fagen listed Enoch Light's Command label provocative percussion as an influence...apparently there's a lot more to this guy than I thought...

I've collected the Enoch Light stuff for decades. The early stereo goofy ping pong manipulations are entertaining in a time capsule sort of way, but the instrumental timbres are among the best on record. RCA ribbon and various tube condenser mics... simple all tube recording chain... what's not to like? Huge dynamic range captured on many of these recordings, retrieved admirably these days by tube amps and big ol' horn speakers... yes!
