OK everyone, as 2010 closes, what was your favorite sports memory from a great year in sports??
The Reds making the playoffs, the SF Giants rag tag bunch win the World Series, the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup, Kobe getting ring #5 over Boston, Jimmie Johnson winning his 5th straight NASCAR title, the Saints capping off a magical run and winning the Super Bowl over the juggernaut Colts, Duke/Butler national title game, etc....
Two memories that stick out this year is Coach Paterno getting his 400th win, and Clintwood making a run at it again.
However, the one memory that I have from this year that is head and shoulders above anything else is being able to take my 6 year old son to his first game in State College, PA. His excitement from when we left Clintwood that Friday morning until we arrived at Beaver Stadium the next morning was unbelievable. The one thing that topped the whole trip off was when the players arrived and he got to slap their hands as they walked into the stadium... the look that he had on his face was just priceless. Gives me chills just thinking about it.
It wasnt a huge game nationally and it isnt talked about but it was very enjoyable for me. But Tennessee knocking off UK in Knoxville. (I cant figure out how to post a video)

One I will remember forever: PV not shooting a single free throw in the regional semifinals.

Mine may have just been the catch by Miles Austin until Beahler may have just blown it.
Im a Duke fan and a Lakers fan. Both won the title and that was great for me.
But in the end, I have to give the nod to the Reds making the playoffs. The Reds are, and always will be, my number one sports team. So going through 15 years of agony since our last playoff appearance, this season was a fun and exciting run.
Stripes, the Reds win over St. Louis early at the Civil Rights Game is more memorable for me. I was there and saying every four letter word I could think of at Cordero and then as became the norm he was bailed out by his defense. The next day was great too, Arroyo threw a gem and the Reds overtook first place. Yes, I stayed until they placed the Reds atop the scoreboard in right field.
