Roll Tide!
Coach Grant gets the biggest win of his Bama career as the upstart Tide knock off the Kentucky Wildcats in Coleman Coliseum tonight, 68-66. Bama was up by 20 at one time in the second half, but let UK get back in the game. Bama was up one with 13 seconds left, but UK turned it over and Bama got a steal, hit one out of two free throws, and defended the UK last chance shot by Jones at the end. JaMychael Green was great, as usual. He is very hard to defend on the low block.
But it was Bama's length and athleticism that won the game tonight, with Senario Hillman and Tony Mitchell living in the passing lanes and hitting big shots.
Coach Grant has made gigantic strides already for the program, recruiting some great young talent in Releford, Mitchell, Steele, etc.. The future of Bama basketball might be brighter than once thought.
and nanner nanner nanner UK fans! :p

Re: Roll Tide!
Didn't get to see the game but heard about it from a friend. Cats have been playing inconsistent this season and I think it's mainly due to losing Kanter. Wasn't pulling much hope for this season anyway...maybe when next years' big class comes in, it will give me a little more to cheer for. And by the way, Terrance Jones: learn how to make a free throw.

Re: Roll Tide!
it wasnt the lack of a big for UK, it was getting the ball stolen and a very stagnant offense early. the UK attack got rolling late in the game, but Bama plays excellent D and had UK stifled early

Re: Roll Tide!
I will say it was a lack of D from a big at times for UK, and Bama shot lights out from outside early too. I was texting a coworker who is a big UK fan during the game. When UK made the big run, and it went to a commercial break on a TO, I told him, I was surprised Grant hadn't went to a zone to just mix it up with UK on that run. Sure enough, right out of the TO they did. I really though UK was going to get the W when they tied it up.
