Finished my Model 19's

When I brought these home they were in rough shape. Drippy varathane, pieces of veneer edging missing and worst of all, an enlarged hole in the front baffle. The P/O cut the opening bigger to fit an N801-8A crossover.
With help from this forum and the AK forum I finally got them singing. I ended up building new Z19 crossovers as our friend Zilch posted up everything needed to build them.
This was the biggest project I have done to date and it was well worth it. They sound wonderful. I have some foam for the horns coming from the Darst's and I may build some new grills as one pair needs some work.

I think these are the best speakers I've owned to date. I don't know what the factory xo's sound like but these Z19's are wonderful. I have to sell a couple of pairs to appease the wife but I think these are keepers.
One thing I've noticed is they need very little power to make a lot of sound. I am hooking them up to my AU-D1 II tonight. In the future I can see a tube amp but since I know little to nothing about tubes this will take some research.

Nice work! An inspiration to us all. Really nice work on those Z19 crossovers - do you tend to "set and forget" or do you adjust often?

Initially I was adjusting a lot but now I think they are dialed in to where I enjoy the sound that is coming out of the speakers.
I don't like tp strong of a midrange and like a lot of guys in their 40's I need a bit more high end, but not a lot. I don't know if I've explained that right.
After I get the grills finished I think I can leave them alone.
