Harding, new band director at Lee High

Long time band director Mike Twigg retired this past year to close a very successful run at Lee. Twigg was director at Lee since the beginning and built a very good program. Lee hired Ben Harding as the new band director. Pete Marcum, originally from Lee Co., was initially hired to take on the position a short wile back. Marcum was over Grundy's program for good while like Twigg was at Lee. However, he resigned (not sure why) in the middle of July. Hopefully Harding can keep the strong tradition going at Lee.

I've known Ben for a very long time, and he's a young but talented musician. He's also been involved in several teaching camps in the area and back toward Morehead State and at UVA-Wise (where he graduated from), and really loves working with the kids. He'll do well--he's got a pretty magnetic/larger-than-life personality that will work well with everyone I believe. Best of luck to him.
