Who should __________be playing?
so this stems out of the Burton thread. Seeing that people want to complain about schedules this is the thread to make a 10 game schedule for any team in the area. To continue with what UTVols2 has said, who do you want we (Burton) to play? Every game we are playing schools bigger than us already. So go ahead and make out a 10 game schedule that realistic. And Numbers, I don't hear much complaining about numbers at all. Back in the day when it was used as an excuse but not now, that I know of.
Want to show a 10 game schedule for Central? put it down and lets talk about it but remember that it does take 2 schools to agree to play.
Re: Who should __________be playing?
I like Lee's schedule this year. The Thomas Walker game is probably the only game I'd like to change. The county rivalry thing is all well and good, but it's a cupcake game that Lee shouldn't play. If Lee wins everybody says that well look at the number of kids they have, they should win. If Lee loses then they become the butt of jokes. I'd change that game to a game with a team such as Middlesboro, Ky or Sullivan North. Both teams are in close proximity and have around the same size enrollment.
Re: Who should __________be playing?
Union's schedule should be
De La Salle
Trinity
Miami Northwestern
St Thomas Aquinas
Buford
DB
Phoebus
Byrnes
Oscar Smith
Rockwood
Re: Who should __________be playing?
but really, I like how Union has scheduled, tough teams like Richlands and Gate City OOD with CWood and JIB in the LPD. I wouldnt hate dropping one CMD team for another bigger team to really use as a gauge like South or Tenn High
Re: Who should __________be playing?
This whole new batch of schedule whining is hilarious. When the district was at 7 teams it was easy to schedule 4 OOD games. Now you have to find 7 & most of those schedules werent finished till what, late Spring early summer? We're all lucky we're not stuck on 7-9 game schedules. Every coach in the distrct made mention of this on the 93.5 coaches preseason show. Shut the hell up about it and quit acting like a bunch of 7 year old girls.
Re: Who should __________be playing?
Scheduling is very, very difficult. Most people think it is as simple as writing a name in with a pencil on your desk calendar and be done with it.

You mean thats not how it works? WTF? Are you sure?
Re: Who should __________be playing?
Lots of schools wouldn't even consider scheduling an LPD school this offseason because if they scheduled them and then Appy or Pound stayed open they might have gotten dropped at the last minute. Trust me, Clintwood didn't want to drive 3 hours through the woods to Grayson county to get the most points ever layed on a Clintwood team or the largest margin of victory ever against them. They didn't want to have to play a Hazzard team the first game of the year that hadn't lost a regular season game in 4 years either. They were trying to get teams in TN, WV, near Roanoke and into KY and had to take what they could get. If the Wise school had to play Ervinton twice year it'd be totally excusable.
Re: Who should __________be playing?
These schedules are in no particular oder but i believe it would make better football programs for each of these schools to play these games year in and year out
Union= Lee, Gatecity, Richlands, Bluefield, Sullivan South, Harlan Ky, JIB, Central, Clintwood
JIB= George Wythe, Radford, Richlands (never happen), Sullivan North, Honaker, Gatecity, Union, Central, Clintwood
Central=Lee, Sullivan North, Gatecity, Richlands, Harlan Ky, Radofrd, Union, Clintwood, JIB
Clintwood plays a good tough schedule so they are fine. IMO nobody from the LPD should play cumberland schools NOBODY. we are a strong district but our out of district scheduling gets weak sometimes.
These schedules would allow for some learning room for all the teams and make quality football for the LPD again.
