604 8-g with 16 ohm hi freq. x over?

Hello I looked around the web and found nothing, wondering if the community could help answer a few questions. The crossovers that came with my 604's many years ago say 8 ohm for the woofer connection and 16 ohm for the horn. Will this damage the speaker in anyway using this crossover and also how would this affect the sound. Thanks very much!

Thanks Cal I dont have any measuring equipment, but if it helps GPA put in 8 ohm diaphragms

Then it may be as simple as adding an 8 ohm series resistor. That's where you start.
