and who would of thought that the Central girls ranked #1 most of the year would not even win regions, and the Lady Raiders would on a downyear for them, GO RAIDERS!!
For what it is worth I dont think Burton had a down year per say. They lost to a loaded Central team a few times and beat teams several quality teams. They lost one senior last year? return three quality players that i know of.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Perhaps Central needed those players who quit, after all..........

I never expected any of this either. GC girls winning the region after a 5-11 start and GC boys sitting on the couch. I kinda expected va high to get us the other night, they owed us. VHS has a winnable game, but all these games in a short period is gonna be hell on a team that only goes six deep.
Union has to get some offense going. If they are hitting their three point shots, they play stingy defense and have the ability to shock a better team and win a couple games. Vernon has to be more dominant in the post and the focal point of the UHS attack, they cant beat great teams with him only posting six points.
Castlewood played Hurley tighter than I expected, but this is not one of those great CW teams so I dunno if they have the talent to compete with better teams.
I dont know much about the girls.
The hardest thing for Hurley's chances are the fact that Galax returned about everything from last year. They have talent, athleticism and experience as they are the defending state champs.
