Buy em, you will like them!
I'd like to, but the cost of shipping getting out of hand.
Drool!!! I just spent 500 bucks on some Ribbon tweeters.... I bet he want's a whole lot more than the 200 starting bid....strange there's not one bid on them yet though and only 2 days left on the auction.
Rare yes. Valuable? Probably not because no one really knows about them.
I had mine out of the cabs. They are beautiful drivers. And massive!
Wow, 18" woofers...... incredible. How do we make cabinets for them.. and what driver should we match to them?
Those look interesting!!!! how would they sound with 604's in a 3 way configuration? Also can these be reconed by GPA?
GPA builds brand new ones, certainly they can recone older ones.
Even though it's rated as having a response up to 2000 hz---being an 18" woofer, I'd use a 500 hz crossover and possibly an 802-8G h.f. driver with a Mantaray horn (or 511B). You'd have one Kick @ss system IMHO..... Or, if you want a three way system it would work well with a large format Altec h.f. driver (and possibly a 300 hz crossover point with Mantaray horn) and tweeters.... Your choices also depend partly on how much power you plan on putting through the finished speaker system/whether it's for home hi fi or PA use.....

I suggest 3 way 3184-414-902 or 3184-604.
Put both 3184 in a mono sub.
If you want 2 way 511E and 288. Or 311-90, 329 etc. at 500 Hz.
