The the original grilles fit over the metal, I actually think it's a good idea....... helps to keep fingers and whatever from poking at the woofers.Quote:

It's a good idea in theory but I've installed metal grills like that (on PA speakers) and they tend to rattle when you crank them up especially with certain low bass notes. Maybe not in all installations--but personally, I've had bad luck with those metal grills in the past so I prefer cloth. I remove the cloth grills when listening at home, but agree grills are important protection when the speakers aren't in use.....Quote:
