This was listed a couple times before at $500K. With no bites. As long as this listing has been listed he could have listed them individually but would hate to have to do the shipping on all of that.. Boy would I love to be able to pick through that.. He has a pair of WE 728B's 12" speakers.. They are super rare and worth a lot of green. In the 5 figures range IMO.
Actually sat down with a couple buddies and started trying to intelligently put some REALISTIC value on this stuff at one point a while back. There are a couple important factors, not the least of which is the location, they're not in a land where anyone should be trusted, especially when dealing with 6 figure price tags. Another HUGE consideration is the condition of any of this gear.
Broken/blown 728b's take a HUGE hit in value, as does just about every other piece of gear listed. Consecutive s/n models 9's sound impressive, until you discover a non-working power or OPT.
Without investing in plane tickets, hotel fare, meals, hiring a technician/consultant w/crew and test gear, you could not even begin to have a comprehensive assessment of value for that lot. It would be a several thousand dollar investment just to determine what's there and it's condition in order to make an educated and intelligent offer.
Ultimately, and even with the purchase power at hand, we could not justify an offer at even 40% of the asking price. Too many unknowns making it a colossal gamble.
As one huge lot at that price, it will still be for sale after most of us are dead and gone.
The owner/seller here is going to get a valuable lesson in the value of the "hoard". If he wants a fair shake for this stuff, he's gonna work for it.
Oh we're fully in agreement AB. My point more than anything else is that this lot is just a flight of fancy. It is grossly overpriced, and underrepresented.
This is a total bullshit line. He's done nothing to communicate a ballpark value or even a vague representation of condition of anything in the lot.Quote:
A partial list I started mostly off the top of my head of what I have and I will be adding to this list in the upcoming days. This will not be a full inventory of what is being sold but a rather a partial one to communicate the value of what is being sold.
How do you sell a business, or even get an appraisal without a complete inventory?
I agree with everything said.
To take the high road and assume positive intent, the guy is trying to use a very inexpensive advertising channel to reach a potential buyer of his inventory. Obviously if you were going to make a six-figure investment, a few thousand bucks is table stakes to spend on due diligence.
Agreed ! He listed them twice at $500K and now he has it listed for $550K.IMO he has no intention of selling any of it.
