Yeah, being old sucks. But trying to EQ your system around bad ears is just going to make it sound unnatural. I look at it as a benefit, I no longer need a system that can play to 20K. 15K is way plenty and there are quite a few 2 way horn systems that can do that very well.
Not to mention that being old beats the alternative (being dead) :p
I finally got hearing aids and my higher ranges all seem to have returned and sound pretty natural to me. Music sounds a hell of a lot better. Being old is not really all that bad in a lot of ways. Exercise a lot; keep the weight down; blah blah; it all seems to actually work !!! Only problem is that at 10:30 pm i'm ready to go to bed !!!
For me there is probably no point in adding the 2404s to the 511Bs.
I’m waiting for ObamaCare to kick in and then get cochlear implants wired directly from my amp into my brain. :)
