Most likely he is using low temp lighting which has more red in it. Your eyes compensate, the camera won't.
At 3200 degrees K white looks pinkish, as temp goes up shifts to white or blue/white.
The reference color standard is a heated metal bar. At 3200 degrees it's red hot, higher temps it is white hot. Most home lighting is lower temp.
I'm somewhat familair with that. I've typically don't have white objects turning pink, Though. I don't think my lights are all that high temperature........ I admit, I've never referenced halogen's temperature, just flourescents. The garage has 5xxx K bulbs, but the lights downstairs are lower.
Incandescents are more orange-yellow. Many CFL's are pinky-purpley. And all this depends on the pigments used to color the paint too, as whites are never pure white.
You find that a lot with camera lenses...In person will look white but with photos especially if a flash was used can look pink... IMHO & experience
