Thankfully no moisture damage that I can see........
So I've got my 9864A in my spare bedroom, near a window. I wanted to get some plants growing. I've seen the water rings on lots of speakers online. That's ok, my situation is different! I'm going to use containers with no drainage, and I'll put a flattened box under them to catch any drips.........so there's no chance of water pouring out onto my precious cabinet......... unless the water corrodes the cheap aluminum roasting pans I'm using and MAKES holes!
Thankfully, the cabinet is made of that vinyl covered OSB stuff Altec used (Enviroboard)........ never thought I'd be thankful for vinyl. The holes used to mount the hardware for flying the cabinet did let water inside the cabinet into one of the ports, and behind a horn flair. It wasn't enough to cause any damage, and it didn't sit long either. I mopped it up with rags, as I did the top of the cabinet. The driver was isolated pretty well from the water...... the only water that got on it, was from my hands..... on the cone, but not enough to worry about.
I've now moved the cabinet away from the plants. As far as I can see without pulling the driver....... it didn't seem to want to come unstuck from the cabinet, and I didn't want to force it........ nothing is damaged. Thank the Lord, I didn't wreck anything!
On a side note....... do the 16" frame gaskets normally stick? I've had paper gaskets stick (especially on Jensen drivers), but I wasn't expecting the rubber, or whatever it is to stick.

sadly they do, especially on any surface painted or finished within 6 months of the driver being installed.
The trick i use to avoid this, paste wax for painted(car) finish. just rub it on the gasket mating/seating area of the cabinet like you were waxing your car, let it dry, install your driver, buff away the excess with a clean dry cloth.

I think it's just plain OSB with no finish, but I suppose it could be something from the OSB itself causing the sticking problem.
