...just out of curiousity...
[without causing any1 to have to be too lengthy]...
what product or products do u guys swear by to...
Clean your cymbals ... [i use a metal polish called 'Flitz']; & ...
Clean the finish on your [laquered wood] acoustic kits...
Clean your hoops/rims/stands [i've actually used WD-40 - it works!]...
Also, i need to get my acoustic ["burgundy-red-wine" wood finish] Gretsch's re-finished [many 'battle-scars' [img]wink.gif[/img] /courtesy of the many club daze]...if any of u have done this [this is a 1st 4 me, believe it or not], do u have any tips/suggestions/things to keep in mind about this...i am also going to consult a local guy who's been in music/drum'g retail here 4 many yrs; he knows a lot of guys in the business...
Any suggestions appreciated...

i don't think i've ever cleaned my cymbals. i prefer the darker tones, so i don't mind a little grunge. i usually have to replace them, after a year or two anyway.
for cleaning drums i like windex.
i've never refinished my drums, but seeing as you have gretsch's ,i'd suggest get a professional to do it.

Damn!Never really thought about my upkeep w. my shells,as i have had some one take care of that for me,..........,just kidding.I prefer my cymbals to be untouched, for some reason cymbals(zildjian in particular)seem way more awesome with a little more grit to them.I would think that some Bospherous lines would be the same,.As 4 shells,if i see grit of any sort,i just take a warm cloth to the shells, works fine 4 me.I set up using some cheap-ass Easton leather gloves when setting up.All my shit is shiny by showtime. But fuse u should really consult someone w. experience to help refinish yer drums.I wouldnt take a layman's word on fixing that.Go to a pro, especially if u are vain about the cosmetic of yer drum........love & respect....beats
