hahaha..funny story man. i live in VA, just north..and i don't even have emissions testing. as long as i pass a visual inspection once a year i'm straight. YEE-HA

here's my story,, i had to get the registration renewed here in cali a few weeks ago, so i had to get the car smogged, here u can either get the car smogged or pre smogged, if u get it smogged and it doesnt pass it will get reported to the department of motor vehicles and you will have 10 days to fix it and make it pass smog test,,if you dont fix it in 10 days they will take away your car and it will be labled a gross polluter,and a pretest if it doesnt pass it will not be reported, but i was so sure that my car would pass that i did the regular smog check,,turns out it didnt pass, i was shocked,,dude tells me that they can do a diagnostics check for 90 bucks,,i was like no way man,,so i was thinking of what it could be, i knew my oil needed changing so i changed my oil, then i decided to go to my buddies mechanic shop and right around the corner from there this guy hit my left front fender while trying to go around me at a corner,,so i talk to my mechanic buddy and he says to go check out this one dude,,turn out my buddy gave me the wrong address and wrong telephone to the place,,so i called my mechanic buddy and he found the right number and i called the place and made a appointment for the next morning,,so that night i decided to change thses headers i had on my car wich i bought off a guy for 30 bucks and i put the stock exhaust manifold back on,,i did this at my dads house wich is 20 min away from my house,,so on my way home my car must have died on me like 7 times,,,turns out it was the oxygen sensor,,the wire was breaking,,,changed that the next morning and took it to that appointment and it passed smog no prob,,i showed the header to the mechanic and he said it was the header,because where the oxygen sensor was there are 2 seperate pipes and the oxygen sensor was only reading from one of those pipes,,so thats it,,,man what a day that was http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

haha yep, i live in oregon and i dont have to worry bout emissions or the visual inspection. nobody cares here

my brother lived in Louisiana for a few years..when i went down to see him he told me that down there they don't even have INSPECTIONS..you can drive around in a car w/ no doors or lights and no one cares.

Yup, it's nice over here in VA, still too many traffic laws though, good thing we don't have to pass emissions, alot of people I know can't even pass the visual. Then you got to remember I live out in the sticks, where the most popular cars are trucks, and if it is a car then it's a charger, Chevelle, Camaro, Mustang, fairlane, etc. That's probably what I'd be driving if money wasn't a problem, I'd still keep the 4g though.

Went to get the honda inspected last week it was smokin and puffin, when they held it at 4000 for a couple minutes (you know that part of the test) It was at 2400 ppm like 10 times over it should be. Well I live in North Carolina taking advantage of the good ol boy connection i said to the owner Well Jack Johnson sent me from Johnson's cars, the owner chuckeld and said OK buddy It ain't gonna pass as the garge filled up with smoke and all the mechanics were laughing at my 4th gen. But he said "you want it to pass?" I said hell's yeah I do! "50 bucks..." So they pulled in a 99 Cavalier and moved the emissions tool into its tailpipe as the computer calibrated its final reedings. So now i passed @ .0003 ppm. Fuckin stoked! On top of that, A side marker light that didn't work (connector came loose, tired of scraping knuckles) and they did not even check anything(horn,brakes,lights,etc) to see if they worked! The funny thing is, when i first got there there was this detective sweating the owner over doing this exact kind of thing, i guess he hit him off with some do-nut money and that was that. So you know whats up now... time to cut that strait pipe man! thanks to good-ol Dean (the owner) your not reading this but you rule man. Who needs a cat converter anyway too bad for you folks living in cali i would have been burned at the stake.
