Man what a shitty ride home I had today from work. I got out of work today and it was raining all day and foggy. Started up the Civic no problem. Went down the road a bit and was ready to pull out on a slight incline then bam, car dies. I crank it up and it doesnt start, try it again with no luck. Put on my hazards. I had about 20 cars driving around me http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif I layed my foot on the gas and then cranked it again finally it started with a sputter then I feathered the gas and had it running for about 2 mins, then pulled out and a cop follows me. I pull in to a parking lot and the cop asks if I was ok. The car was ideling fine no check engine etc. Told the cop this is what you get for putting all your money into a car http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif he laughed and went on his way. I drove home fine after that, Im just hoping this isnt going to be another damn issue. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif Ah well lets hope tommorows better

Sounds like the igniter might be ready to crap out. They tend to go on hondas. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif I feel for you. When I had my dx mine would die in the middle of traffic sometimes. I just had the whole Distributer changed last year so I hope its not that. Im kinda hoping its just a fluke since its really wet out I hope it chocked up from that, The engine was cold so who knows!? A couple times when it was damp out as soon as I started the car up an drove down the road the rpms would drop to like 400-500 almost stalling then the RPMS went up, went fine when the engine was warmed up though

Hey my car did that exact same thing, I had an msd external coil on my d16 and it kept blowing the igniter. I took the coil off and replaced the igniter and it has never stalled out on me agin since then. So maybe its your igniter. Hope everything works out!

I had the same thing happen to me and my distributor was replaced no more than 6 months before this started happening. My mechanic thought it might be a relay board? so he got a new one, replaced it and i have never had another problem since... so thats what worked for me.

shame on you...you shouldnt drive your car when its cold...with the rpms it sounds like your IACV is dirty, thats whats wrong with mine, get a gasket for it and clean it...its like 5 bucks from manchester honda shipped...
