And again...its yours truly in action http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
There was a 2 day race this past weekend, your ran the course one direction the first day, then reverse the next day. Then you combine your times for both days and that determines your place in class. I did horrible the first day, i dunno what happened, heck even my one friend in his neon beat me for the first time hehe. On day 2 however i was on fire and really layed down some fast runs, not enough to pass my neon friend but the margin of error was so close it was disgusiting. However the good side is that i might win my class for the year if things goto plan, so we'll see. But overall it was really crazy and fun event...i could use some better brakes but in time i suppose. Enjoy!

Awsome! Hey Habib do you know if Nuespeed makes a rear tower bar for 4th gens? The bar I am talking about is the on in the trunk. Also nice signature..haha! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

weeeell, can I used that pic too http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif. anyone take any more pics? awesome!

Habib is it true that stock sized sways are what you use auto'xing. Some guys have said none on front at all. What's the scoop?
-
See that's the exact opposite of what I thought. disconnect front and run a 22mm rear, stock is 13mm in rear. I wish I knew more about what worked on these cars for suspensions.
He doesn't mention a lower a-arm tie bar though? does he use them.
..wow that S&M page said a lot.
Hey would you say the stock CRX brakes are underpowered - with rear disc that is? And ask your autox'ing buddies, or maybe you would ven know this, but when you put a larger mastercylinder on a stock system, even though your brakeability seems better, what is this deal with line pressure? Everyone keeps saying your actually not doing good for the brakes, but my CRX was able to stop so fast that it wasn't even a joke...hell it would studder and shake the piss out fo the frame. It amazed the chevelle guy, I stopped so fast.

Eric- thanks for the sig complment! yea i'm pretty sure good old neuspeed makes a upper rear bar for the hatch...but i don't use one. The hatch design makes it stiffer in the back than a CRX (also, the hatch center of gravity is a few inches back cuz of th weight of the hatch, thus a little better balance). So if your itching i buy some sort of bar, get the rear lower (get the progress one if your can it will fit no matter if your car was a HF or Si). You'll blow thru turns after that, i've heard the rear upper has caused some hatches to act to stiff and even slide a bit. But if you own a CRX, yea i'd consider the rear strut bar. (i've got more to say but i'm saving it for NC_rex, scroll down http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif )
Ami- Gal, you don't even have to ask anymore, just take the pictures http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif, nice sig btw http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/eek.gif if I get any more pics they are yours.
NC- Yea part of what you said is true. In the stock classes, some people mix n match the front sway bars from HF's, DX's, and Si's. But yea the common one for racing is to just disconnect the endlink for the front bar. For the street nah i wouldn't disconnect it not worth it. Just by a larger rear bar (see erics section above this) and set up the rest of your suspension normally. My setup is as follows...
Tockio illumina adjustable shocks
Eibach pro-kit springs
Energy suspension bushings
Nuespeed front strut tower bar
Nuespeed rear sway bar (22mm)
1/16 toe out - front
1/16 toe in - rear
My my VW 15's wrapped with sumitomo HTR 50Z's (195/60 R15) and a 140 or 160 treadwear http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
If you wanna see a crazy setup that has the front bar disconnected, check out this site he's a friend of mine with a BADASS handling CRX.

I've driven this machine before and it is crazy lemme tell you...go karts arn't this good! To see what andy though of me drving his car, read this and look near the bottom where my name (chris carlisle) is mentioned hehe.

In basic, most any honda likes to have a stiffer rear end than a front end (just by a bit, not overwellming). The stiffer the rear is, the more load it can take off the front, this is why when you watch the realtime integra type-R's on speedvision they always have there rear wheels up in the air, they have huge honkin rear sway bars! On the guy andy's CRX (the page i sent above) he does have a rear lower tie brace. There are alot of new underside braces and such that have come out recently, my best guess would be to try to keep your braces even (don't put like 2 up front and none in the back etc) you want a over good balance of stiffness within the chassis, then tune how you want it to handle with swaybars, shocks, springs, etc.
I really hope i'm makin a tad of sense here cuz i always go off ranting. If you wanted, lets say a CRX with a good street setup. I'd get braces for the front and rear, top to bottom. Then for sway bars, either get a whole package (front and back), or i'd just get the back and leave the front stock. Back all of that up with nice springs and shocks, and that setup alone would allow you to out corner most other civics you'd encounter. I knew a dude who bought a 6th gen Si and put both the front and rear bars on along with other stuff, he use to say how great it felt in normal drving...autocrossing the thing was helpless cause the front end couldn't keep from plowing, meanwhile i watched as another 4th gen hatch with just the rear bar and other supporting mods whip the shit outta the 6th gen Si.
Yea those two crazy charaters at www.sandmracing.com are good friends of mine, i'm glad they own and drive type-R's for what they are ment for, not for show. And boy can they BOTH drive the piss outta those cars. I'm due to take a run in the white one real soon (i'm helping him build brake ducts), its a beast i can't wait for it!
As for brakes, yea i have yet to see someone upgrade to the larger master cyclinder (the 89 integra mastercyclinder) in person. Some people i've talked with said it was pointless, others said they might try it. I almost talked andy into gettin one on his CRX. After he almost lost his brakes last year at a track event, he tottaly rebuilt his system and it works pretty well considering what it is (see his mods page). Mine needs a MAJOR rebuild they are tottaly shot and scare me one a weekly basis. Mine is gonna be like bremo OEM replacent rotors, EBC greenstuff pads, rebuilt rear drums, and maybe lines. I figure that should suit me, and if i need more i'll try the bigger master cyclinder. Any more questions keep'm commin, i hate it when i confuse anyone http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hell thanks for all the input.
On the brakes, I have the larger master cylinder. I even have pictures. I also have the larger integra rear front brakes - but they are not installed. The reason is becuase I need to make an adapter or to test out the teg knuckle for that camber issue everyone says exists. I am more willing to spend $100.00 and make the adapter with my local machinist. I am thinking there must be even larger brakes. Could have sworn that I had measured the prelude brakes on the front as the same size as integra...and the rear rotors on the prelude are huge (88-91 models).
You know what's funny I just brang up a master cylinder and booster form my Sched to Wrap it. It's huge! I took pictures of it side-by-side so everybody can see the differences in size and the non-differences in mounting and lines.
-
yea, if you were goin to bigger rotors, i'd definally get the bigger master cyclinder as well, heck you'd pratically need one for anything larger than stock. There is a article somewhere on hybrid-honda.org that speaks something about using VW corrado/prelude/accord rotors or something weird like that, just in case your lookin for more info.

If I had two of me, I'd like to make adapter brackets for the Integra 90-93 calipers to be used on our knuckles. I'd like to buy that fastbrake kit and then figure out how much further in the holes would go.
I know that would sell more then fastbrakes. The only difference is the Corrado rotor is larger...but I'm sure people would buy the integra rotor used when buying the caliper - hell you can get calipers and rotors for $80 bucks used..Why not spend another $70 on adapters...that would be a killer combination.
