no the 86-89 teg engines arent ZC's they are D16A1's and have a low compression and not as aggressive cam compared to the ZC...no it will not go into your car, mounts different and why would you want to...
get a 88-91 (black top) ZC...

hopefully turbo :)

It depends which first generation 'teg we are talking about.
1985-1988: The JDM GSi and RSi Integras were using a DOHC PGMFI ZC producing 135/6,500 PS/RPM and 15.5/5,000 kg-m/rpm. (This is what the Aussie 1G Integras had too).
The JDM ZS and LS Integras were using a DOHC twin-carbed ZC producing 115/6,500 PS/RPM and 13.8/4,000 kg-m/rpm.

1989 to 1993: The Second Gen JDM 'tegs were B16A (XSi and RSi), DOHC ZC (ZXi and RXi) and SOHC ZC (TXi) powered. All were fuel injected.

As to do they fit? Dunno - we got them standard with the FI DOHC. A ZC will swap into an Aussie D15B engine bay using the JDM ZC mounts. My guess is they might, but I know little about USDM Civics and nothing about USDM Integras.
I still think that a lot of your importers are getting twin-carb ZCs in with the FI equipment ripped off stuffed FI engines. That would explain the poor HP figures. Dunno, it's just a guess.

Oh... missed the bit about putting into a CRX... as the other post mentioned: They have different mount castings on the blocks as I recollect, so they won't match a 2G CRX - you need the JDM CRX/Civic Si ZC.

86-87 US Integra All Models came with D16A1...not ZC DOHC, But DOHC D16...Control System: PGM-FI with Mechnical Ignition Controls.
88-89 US Integra All Models came with D16A1...not ZC DOHC, But DOHC D16...Control System: PGM-FI with electrical Ignition - First Generation of OBD0 ECU.
These engines can only be swapped into the 86-87 Civic/CRX. But the ECU can be used the the Second Generation OBD0 Honda's...88-91 Civic/CRX.
------------------------------------------
90-93 Integra Engines: B18A1, DOHC 1.8l Non-VTEC...these are only swappable into the 88-91 Model CRX with a mountning Kit and the modified linkages and axles required.
the 92-93 Integra GSR came with a sroked version of the B16A...called the B17A1, and a modified Head and Transaxle with tighter gearing.
The Optimal Engine to run in the 92-93 Integra, if your friend has one, is the 94-95 Integra GSR. He would have to buy a B16A Cable Trans, but the Engine bolts right up...he would also have to buy a modified engine harness....but the ECU would plug right in form the GSR with only adding the IAB wire. The Exhuast Manifold bolts right up as well to the stock cat. The Swap would cost about $2500-$3000 depending on pricing for everything for you to install.
That's about all the options I know for Integra's other than a CRVTEC...which I'll leave at this.
