I write quite a few scripts and want to send them to people who can actually do something with my script.
I also write songs and I send my songs to publishers who then deal with that side of things but when writing a script do you send it straight to the studios or who?
Please can somebody give me some addresses or a book that would give me addresses to the people I need to send scripts too. Thanks for reading
Try looking up the websites of production companies and see if they'll read unsolicated material. Or you could try and get an agent - The Writer's Handbook 2004.

I'd try a script-reading service 1st to get some "professional" opinions on your material. Make sure your formatting is spot-on and err... good luck Tom Towers!
It's really difficult.
I've written 4 feature scripts, and I'm going through the same thing, although much to my surprise, having shot a feature from one of my scripts has opened a lot of previously closed doors.
Basically nobody remotely near "the top" is going to read your stuff.
If you send it to studios, and even almost all agents or managers, you'll get a polite little letter, stating that they do not accept unsolicited material, meaning, someone they personally know or do business with has to hand it to them.
Welcome to the realities of the entertainment business, where you have to claw and scratch your way in...
I hear writing contests are a good way to get noticed, although I haven't gone that route yet.
I would NOT suggest script consultants, unless you're really clueless about formatting, because honestly, that's about all they really know about, for the most part, and they're charging you a mint for what books tell you.
Get your script into the hands of as many people who know how to write scripts, as possible.
Get notes from all of them, then do many rewrites.
The magic is in the rewrites.
