Only 4 days to the Nightcrawler mini and counting! I can't wait. It?ll be a huge coup if I ever get this issue thanks to my verdammt comic store, but oh well. Is everyone else psyched?

I won't be able to get it (at the same time everyone else does, anyway) but if he's still a priest at the end, I don't want to hear about it.

Personally, I kinda like the idea of him being a priest, but I seem to be the only one sometimes

i think he will be... but that's just becsuse of what i -think- Casey has planned for him in Uncanny. i think Casey wants to ditch the priest angle and got dibs on it, so it wont be done in the mini. i mean really, would he come up with a villain like the Supreme Pontiff and the Church of Humanity if he didn't want to do something with it in terms of Kurt being s priest? and you have to have noticed there has been little to no actual mention of him being a priest lately, and certainly none of those awful preachy speeches. Also, Casey SAID that the confrontation with the Supreme Pontiff would have long term consequences for Nighty which he would resolve later. I think they are just taking it slow, i mean if he just woke up one morning and decided not to be a priest anymore it would be unreslistic, and would weaken his character

So I'm going to have to wait even longer for a confrontation that will have long-term consequences so his character wouldn't be weakened by sudden unrealistic change such as waking up one morning and deciding to be a priest... or was it waking up one morning and deciding to NOT be a priest? Maybe we should just have another six month gap and then not explain EITHER of them cause nothing could make me happier *pauses to wipe spittle from the screen* ... I'd prefer to just be able to conveniently forget the whole nasty business. *whine* And "taking it slow" is not helping! I want it dealt with and done with now, dammit! Well, actually, last year. Yes, last year would have been a little more punctual of them. Anyway, I think it's time for my point.
It should be dealt with in the mini because if it isn't Joe Casey only knows how long it will take him to get to it! Sure, he wants to do it himself, and sure Supreme Pontiff (btw wtf?) is coming up soon... but my negative tendencies have caused me see the following quote like this:

With the italics, I mean. Later? LATER? *wipewipe* OK. *deep breath* I hope that's a misquote.
And another point I just thought of/realized/remembered! I don't want the mini to be packed with all those iffy faith issues if it isn't going to go anywhere towards removing/resolving them. Thank you.

big bad religious guy behind Mr Clean and the massscre of sll those mutants in the sewers in england. Nighty and the team meet up with some of his henchmen in 399 and the man himself in #400, so really it is only a week after the mini comes out that this begins to get resolved, who knows Casey may finish off the priest thing before the mini is finished!

yes, i know we are impatient to get it over and done with, but does thst mean Casey, just as he's starting to get good, should sacrafice the basics of good storytelling to make fans of one character happy? no. i love Nighty, but i also love X-Men, and don't want the books to be bad (again) merely to please fans of one chsrscter.

you never know, maybe the two will tie together somehow. Casey said later, but i don't think he means Clsremonts ideas of later, i think he means a few issues tops.

Ooh, that's where our mindsets differ. To me, they CANNOT be good until the priest thing is gone. It's the um, worm in the apple or whatever. To me, one panel of "Hey! This is silly! I don't want to be a priest!" would be an entirely acceptable way of clearing the whole thing up. Because it may be the easy way out, it may be unrealistic, it may be just plain bad story-telling but it sure as hell beats the alternative. Which is even just one more issue of celibate 'crawler.
Non-fans don't care how it's done. They don't even care if it is done. They would, in fact, likely prefer the single panel scenario as it wouldn't take up too much space. Hmm. Looks like I'm a non-fan, doesn't it? This may require further thought. Although, the Supreme Pontiff thing will likely turn out much the same. Except with a full page of soul-searching rather than just one panel. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
I was just rereading your post Nocturne... saying "bad (again)" would mean that you find Uncanny good? Man, even without the preaching, even blocking the unfortunate circumstances of my hero... it sucks. Although when I block the awful art, I may not choose such a harsh word. I may just say "not very good." But the art, it is there, yes?
