Has anyone else seen Nightcrawler's bio at Marvel.com?

If you have, then you probably realize that is the most revolting bio for Kurt I've ever seen! He's so severly underrated that it's downright sickening. Despite what the comics show, he has a pitiful rating in fighting, agility, speed... you name it, he probably sucks at it. Just looking at the graph at the bottom of nightcrawlers bio page.

Most of us at the Nightcrawler forum feel that he's been underrated. (forum located at http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Nightcrawler &number=79 page)

Feel it should be as follows:
--

Intelligence: At least 5 to 6, he leads the Excalibur Team in the Excalibur comics

Strength: At least 3, he fought with Captain Brittain / Brian Braddock and survived!

Speed and Durability: Don't know how to comment on these but they should certainly be at least one more http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

Agility and Reflexes: CERTAINLY underrated. 8 at least! The mans a born gymnast / athlete, he used to be in a circus.

Fighting Skills: Should be at least 7, he's able to use 3 swords a-la musketeer at once (he can fence with his tail remember?)

There are some changes I wouldn't mind making to the power rating. I would like to see his agility increased.

As for the others. This is a general power rating scale that compares agaisn't all Marvel characters. If you look at the high power beings like the surfer or hulk, and even the moderates like Spiderman and Cap. America. Then compare to the low ends Jubes, etc... You will see they actually compare fairly nicely. This is a statisticly comparison. It doesn't mean that Nightcrawler couldn't beat the Beast or Hulk simply because his stats are lower. The outcome of the battle resides in the power of the author.

While we hold him in high regard as fan-boys/girls, one thing that has been a big draw for a lot of people is his limitations. Imagine another imaginary character, Tarzan. In his books, he is described as the penicale of human physical achievement. And while he appears fast and strong when compared to the average human, someone like Spiderman, statistically mind you, would out class him. SM is faster, stronger and more agile because of his powers. This doesn't mean that Tarzan couldn't take SM. Kraven has gotten up on the Wall-crawler a few times.

On specifics remember Kurt is essentially an enhanced human, who through training and some mutant enhancements is stronger and more agile than a normal person. But he isn't strong or more agile than say SM. As for Int. look to Cyclops for an equal comparison. Scott has been noted as the best X-men leader and his Int is only 3. I took this to mean How smart someone is not their wisdom. Some one could be a genius and still be an idiot in battle. Or the reverse can also apply. Someone like the Wizard would be considered fairly Int, but he constantly gets beat by the FF. So remember this is only a statistical comparison of Characters, not an accurate representation of what they can do, that is up to the creators involved in the stories.

Last ex I promise http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif. Stats are used all the time to rate sports teams. Using these stats are how people feel the team will do in their next game. But upsets happen all the time. SoandSo was suppose to lose to the statiscally superior ThisAndThat, but they won.

I see what BC is saying, and agree, to a point. i do think his agility and strength (have you any idea how strong a trapeze artist has to be?) should be upgraded by one. perhaps fighting ability as well, since it is true he can swordfight with an astounding 3 swords at once...

actually, looking at it again, his fighting ability is really quite high! but strength DEFINATELY has to be upgraded, i mean seriously, gymnastics/acrobatics, especailly the male equivelant requires a LOT of strength, not just agility. just look at them! YOU try doing the Iron Cross! and a trapze artist, he has to snatch people out of the air and throw them, yowsa.

Actually, there are still quite a few inconsistencies with their ratings. I've been through this before and have watched them ridiculed to no end. Galactus is more agile than Nightcrawler based on those ratings. It's when I started to compare them to the overall character stats that I really started to see a big difference between what he's done and what they list.

But from what I understand, Kraven has both enchanced speed and strength. He's also very agile himself. So it's not a peak human versus Spiderman, it's Spiderman versus a "mutant" if you will. But when I see Nightcralwer lifting up full grown man with his tail, dangling one over a ledge with on hand while bent over, and saying he has the strength to rip apar re-enforced steel doors, then to see him get a piss poor rating in strength, it doesn't add up. He's probably not as strong as say, Captain America who says he can lift 800 pounds, but from what I've seen, Kurt would indeed be stronger than a regular human.

Intelligence I never minded. He's good, but I've never seen him to be "that" good. Not enough for him to even score higher than Kitty. However, while it is up to the creators as to what the characters do, it has been fairly consistant that Kurt is beyond most of what those stats list. Agility wise, he's about as good as Captain America, which make no sense. Even Spiderman commented on how close their respective agility capabilities were. The agility is the thing which hurts most to me.
