Rookie on deck!

Hi there. As you might have guessed I'm new here. I recently just purchased my first del Sol (am a domestic guy by nature), and I'm gonna need all the help I can get becoming used to this new croud, lol.

It's a '93 S that was owned by a friend who recently swapped in the D16Z6 I believe. So far I love this car. It's quick, and corners better than any car I've ever driven. It's about as bare bones base as you could buy them and that's where I come to my fist imperative mod.

I NEED a cruise control. And I mean desperately. I can handle manual mirros and locks and steering, but driving as far as I do regularly I HAVE to have a cruise installed, preferably one that is stock or as close to it as possible. So I was wondering if this mod is possible, how hard to do, and how hard to find the parts for. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I hope to become all the more knowledgable about my new baby.

save yourself the headache, and let it go and purchase a si model. Not only that, but you also get the rear disc brakes, Thicker front sway bar, the addition of a rear sway bar, cruis control, power mirrors, power locks on some i believe, power windows, etc... [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">the si doesnt come with a rear sway bar and shouldn't be that hard to add the cruise control ill check on all the part need it for the addition. later

well welcome to the board and if we can help you out in anyway or even find something for you let us know. You should join us for a meet "sometime" when ever have one.

You might try checking out this site: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/solb...for%20sale.htm and e-mailing Kelly with your wants. He might have what you need.

It would be a lot easier/cheaper to put an aftermarket Cruise Control on the car then put the stock Cruise on (A/C the same thing), that's not saying it can't be done but it's a lot of work (control box, wiring etc.). Unless you can get the parts dirt cheap. It's been asked on other boards and that's been the consensus about doing it with stock parts. It's easier to change out the rear drums to disks then doing this or doing an engine change in my mind.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, I understand that it would be a task. But I was just wondering if you could rip it off a wrecked Si or something. If it's too much work I guess I'll just hafta live with it. Oh well, more $$ to spend on performance mods. That rear disc conversion and sway bars are high on my list right now. Just need to get ahold of 'em.
