I?ll Be Back At Seven (Dec 4/00)
Darkness before sunset
Low sky turning
Grey to black
Wind stirring branches
Watch the empty road
How can the sky contain
Heavy with the rain
Accumulated emotions
Condensed fears
15 minutes late
Harsh words you said
Poisoned quarrels
Arguments repeated
Old wounds opened
Winds that blow so cold
How can a heart be fragile
Defenceless against danger
False pretences
Incomplete excuses
30 minutes late
Holding onto dreams
You seem to have forgotten
Self deception
Both sides pretending
Slightest chance of hope
I look through the window
At the gathering storm
I?ve been alone
Since before you left me
Afraid it?s going to rain
The first and last verses were what I thought over the most. That's how I've been doing it lately, think of several lines and a good concept, then write-in the rest at home.
