Interesting 1969 is my guess which would make them among the last. I've seen new frames dated 68. 417 type usually means sold in cabinets or sold to an OEM.

True, though the way I interpret it is that the 417 denoted only if in a cab or as OEM, though we both know that's not true since it was sold individually both wholesale, retail.

Retail 417 were labeled 417 with whatever suffix, OEM 417 usually say "417 type". The exception being very small manufacturers, who simply got a quantity of regular 417.
