I am considering a JRSC. I have been reading about people who have theirs
set at 6psi and 8psi. What exactly is that and what's the difference in performance? Also, are there any extra parts I will need for the 8psi? What are you recommended set ups or even alternatives to JRSC? By the way, I have a 96 GSR coupe with 50k miles. thanx

The difference between 6 psi and 8 psi is significant... 8 to 12% increases in power are not uncommon.
These numbers refer to the amount of air pressure inside the intake manifold. Atmospheric pressure is 14.7psi... or ZERO boost. So, 6psi boost is 20.7psi pressure... which means alot more air in the cylinder... which means a larger explosion when the plug fires... which means MORE power !!! 8psi is a little more power.
Parts necessary for safe 8psi operation is a header, intake, cat-back exhaust, high pressure 255lph fuel pump, pulley and a timing retard device (MSD-BTM). Also, to protect the motor from potentially dangerous detonation, a J&S Safeguard is a really good idea.
I think that the Supercharger is the best choice for a daily driven car... however, if you ask some other guys on this board, they would disagree with my choice. Both can be really great, the JR Supercharger is just cheaper and much more forgiving. Either way, you will enjoy the power.
