I bought a Nikon Super Zoom 8 and i'm needing a little help. I bought new batteries and installed them. When I push the record trigger it makes a high pitch buzz (not very loud) which gets quieter as I change the FPS from 24, 18, 12....which is a good sign. But it doesn't transport film and the auto zoom won't work. What's the deal....anybody have any info?

Check out http://members.aol.com/Super8mm/ServicesPage8.html for tips on checking out an apparently non-working camera. It's a page on Martin Baumgarten's site. He also has a page listing repair sources, but it's probably not worth it unless you're talking about a very expensive camera. These days, with most Super-8 cameras, repair technicians don't want to touch 'em.
