I went to the last Buffalo Bills game last sunday and was wishing I had a light small super-8 camera that shot at 24fps. Which ones are there to choose from that are light.
My first choise without owning it would be the Canon 310XL-S. What do you say?
If memory serves, the 310 has a 25.5 mm lens. Wouldn't the 75mm of an 814 take better shots at a sporting event? In terms of size and portability, they are all small and portable once you've hauled around 16mm or even those herkin' old vhs cameras. Unless, of course, you plan on getting into the game with a helmet cam!
I have taken my Beaulieu and Aaton cameras into a lot of places. I found a really small S8 camera once that was not much bigger than the cartridge itself. However the picture quality was crap. I say go with one of the "5" series Canons.
Nigel is probably right. The Canon 5's are a good compromise for your needs. By coincidence, the smallest quality camera just came up for sale on ebay: a Bauer mini s #1202855612. The fact that it sold for so little should tell you what the general shooting public thinks of "mini" when it comes to film cameras. We want lenses that perform and features that allow us to get creative. This translates into a certain size and and weight. By the way, I hope you aren't wanting a small camera so as not to disturb those around you. Film and developing cost too much to be polite!

Nizo made a really cool S-2 camera, barely larger than the cartridger, I believe it has an 8-1 zoom lens.
the Canon 514 (I think) is pretty small also.
