1. What is the best way of taking footage shot on S8 and putting it on my comp for editing?

2. After editing, how do I get the final piece back off of the computer onto film/video?
Well, for me, the best way is to have the film footage transfered to a digital video format like mini-DV via telecine transfer , such as Rank Cintel, and using firewire to import the footage into the computer with a program like Final Cut Pro, or Premier, or even iMovie.
Others can import transfered footage from a non-digital video source with a capture card.
