I liked Shallow Grave. Not exactly the most orininal film ever made. But it was different to the usuall gritty up north dramas and the middle class southerns crap that was being made at the time. It kick started the british film industry and made uk films cool for a while. Without it there would be no Trainspoting or lockstocks.
Wasnt Shallow Grave set it the england.
P.s Austin is there any films you do like.

It was watchable but the script wasn't that good. Lock Stock was far better and cost the same amount of money to make, but they refused to fund that.

From the brief look I had into ways to fund films in this counrty I gathered you need to be registered with certain organizations which means meeting their critera then you have to register with some other organization to take it into the next stage then blah blah blah tones of paperwork later and they give you a couple of grand to work on the script some more then one day if you're lucky enough to be picked you get money to make your film.
That's the way I saw it, so I though before I start looking further I'll write a script first!
Your probably better of selling your script to investors etc, but then I haven't got that far yet so I don't know for sure.
Haven't you got the gurilla filmmakers hand book!!!

To get money from Channel 4 or the BBC you have to make films about minority issues.
Take Shallow Grave: I don't Channel 4 would have made it unless it had such a strong Scottish connection.

Either that or an arrogant silly little wanker like austin, he'd probably get near on 3 million quid.

It was directed by Danny Boyle. He's from manchester. And Im prety sure its set in england. There is a scot in the movies. But thats about it.

I believe I made a similar remark on another thread.
I'd go to a local ultra rich business and sell them the idea and ask for backing for home grown talent.
I was involved in something similar a few years back and we hit all the local big companies and shit. We even got some help from a well known sugar producing company.....BUT NOT ENOUGH YOU STINGY TIGHT FISTED BASTARDS, I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE AN.......oops, sorry.
Me? Bitter? Naaaaaah!
Tash; How much did you get then for your mental disability?
