There is a book you can get hold of, its called "you Stand here" - Making music videos it is a very useful and informative book which help me a great deal the only problem is you can only get it in the U.S, order it from Amazon.com its about ?16, but well worth it.
What you want to do is get in touch with Ruthie from this board ( check old postings ) This is exactly what she does for a living

My favorite book ever is "Television Production Handbook" 7th edition by Zettl. It is expensive, but it will cover the basics on every technical question you have. The only thing you need to do is come up with the creative part and the money.

Hey, we just finished a how to video that may be of great use to you. It's called "Guerilla to Guerilla, Make Your Video Appear Like Film" and includes interviews with many filmmakers who are making music videos, some of whom worked with Capitol Records and Warner Bros. Records.
Foster Corder, producer of "Too Legit to Quit" video by MC Hammer, talks about a recent video he did and explains the lighting set-up of every single shot.
There are clips from 4 music videos, plus lots more (commercials, shorts, etc.) You can check it out on our web site at

Hi,
I can't find the book "you Stand here" in the Amazon.com web site, I need some helpwith this one.
Thanks in advance
Jim Bird.
The title of the book is 'You Stand There' ('Here' was a misprint). It was written by David Kleiler and Robert Moses. Now you should be able to find it on Amazon.
Hi. I have the Television production Handbook by Zettl--6th ed. It's virtually the same as the 7th (all you college students know that). Here is the ISBN:
0-534-26058-6
Also try Zettl's Video Lab 2.0
It's an interactive CD-Rom that puts you into the heart of the action at virtual iii Productions. There you'll gain hands-on experience in the basics of video production. You learn by diomg.
Hope this helps!!
