I think it comes down to the kids.
In our society, our kids get blasted pretty heavily by marketing, commercials, brand names, practically from birth and throughout the rest of their lives.
Some Adults in this country react to this reality by putting off having kids.
Some Adults wait until they have either enough money saved or a well paying job so they can afford to spend more time with their kids.
All of this extra planning in an effort to counteract the constant bombardment of advertising and marketing heaped upon their own children.
Others in our country just pop out kids and don't worry about it, what we have here is better than other parts of the world, why limit how many offspring one has?
But halfway around the world, they teach their kids to "hate America".
Why?
If you don't teach the kids to "Hate America", most of the kids over there eventually will choose American Culture over their own culture.
Most cultures tend to want to fight for their own survival. Most cultures do not find it acceptable to lose their own culture to a different culture.
I believe the Islamic faith does not see a middle ground of tolerance toward America without risking losing their kids to our culture.
If they don't teach their kids to hate America, they eventually will lose their kids to the trappings and comforts of the American Society and Values.
The analogy might be the following, would you want to raise your family with a strip club around the corner from your home where your kids play. For the most part, The Islamic faith views America as a strip club.
In the Middle East, 65% of the population is under 18 years of age, and the adults are in fear they will lose their own children and their own culture to the American way of life.
No matter how much Americans love America, we do use 25% of the worlds resources, yet we only have 5% of the world's population. So our form of capitalism CANNOT work all over the world, there are not enough resources.
So there is the trap. It's all about the kids, and who controls the kids. And if you don't believe that, how would you feel if your own child walked up to you and said at age 5, 8, 11, or 15, "Mom, Dad, your way sucks, I'm choosing another way".
Odds are most parents would feel devastated.
I'm just explaining what the underlying tension probably is.
I don't really have a solution, other than the more efficient we are in the United States with the resources we consume, the less we may be viewed in other parts of the world as a wasteful society filled with debauchery.
And if you respond, "I don't care what they think, they need to leave us alone",
....just remember, we do use and are addicted to natural resources that make our own economy hum from the very countries who hate us.
And in essence, we use petroleum from other countries that hate us, and then fling our own products and way of life across their border and in their face.
This is a tricky situation. The more we kill their "leaders", the more their kids may hate us.

I think that is one of the best explanations as to why everyone hates the US I have ever heard. Or, read I should reply.
But, how do Americans become less American and become more acceptable to the rest of the world?

i unerstand what your post is implying. however, i cannot say that i agree--with its entirety.
the problem lies not with children, adults, politicians, world resources, religion, legalities...etc etc etc.
in my mind, ethics is what is fucked up.

Well, it would be a new type of jousting.
Imagine two jousters on horses, not opposing each other, but riding next to each other.
The audience OOOOOOOOhs as the adjoined jousters whirl on by.
The announcers go wild.
"Wowwwww! Synchronized Jousting has never been better."
"Gotta agree with you Wally, lets look on instant replay, I can't believe how en point their tips are!" I swear you couldn't thread a needle between the two jousters poles!"

We need to create a checks and balance between Politics, Wall Street, And Corporate Media... currently the three fuels off of each other at an ever faster pace.
Corporate Media Hypes Wall Street, Wall Street rewards Corporate Media Mergers with huge stock increases, The Politicians stand to the side and collect donations to run their campaigns for office.
We have brainwashed America, and the world, into believing that everytime the stock market goes up, we all benefit...this is a lie.

I agree, but ethics is the foundation below the kids.
If you just say ethics, people will say, "yeah, and who's ethics are better"...
Putting a face on the issue I think helps.

you have to attack the foundation. otherwise, you will rearrange the topics all damn day without getting any further than where you started.
ethics is a good place to start...and finish. the problem with ethics..and issues..and the real target...
is defining 'good' and 'evil'.
no one has yet to do so...
that is, without EVERY single person living, has lived, and will live--to agree on it.
