After looking into some issues with my car with my buddies Kurtis and BLWN GSR, we found out that my injectors aren't cutting it. No matter how much I turn the fuel pressure up on my high pressure pump, I'm getting lean at higher RPMS at higher gears (3rd-5th). I'm going to probably go with the Venom injectors (10% more fuel over stock I hear) when I have the cash flow to do so. After the cartech pans out, I'll get that and have the venoms upgraded to 410cc or larger. I just wanted to warn people that not all cars can do the 8 PSI upgrade without injectors. I turned my fuel from 60 PSI to 80 PSI (set while vacuume line disconnected)and no matter what setting I used, I still got lean up top. The more fuel I put however, made me run rich down low. I also tested my pump as JRCIVIC has suggested and the pump runs at 120 PSI (no load) so I'm pretty sure it's not the pump. I'm driving my car by like a normal person (it's so hard) until I get the injectors. This is a real bummer. I wish I had known sooner than this might be the case. If you go 8 PSI, MAKE SURE you have the AF meter to watch your stuff. I'm getting very little detonation (watching J&S) but the car gets super hot and the headers show signs of being lean.

Well let us know how it goes. We are all wanting to know how the 10% larger injectors go, and although we know ideally they'ld be larger, the upgradablility makes them nice... keep in touch.

Man, that is really strange because ym car is running at the upper level of rich when at full boost with my stockers. I am upgrading anyway but it is just interesting to see that all GSR's aren't created equal. When is the last time you cleaned up your fuel system? Maybe you should try to first use a *GOOD* system cleaner like STP. It comes in a big siler bottle and takes care of the whole system. Since you can watch the A/F gauge you can see if it helped any. I think it costs like $15 and it would be better then dumping 2 bills now when you could wait and do the bigger ones later. Just an idea http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

Somewhere beyond 150mph at 7500 to 8000 rpm in 5th gear. My Autometer A/F drops to three green and one amber(as lean as it gets) under this load.(63psi fuel/vac off) I did run the Redline fuel injection cleaner through the stock fuel system upon the 3.8 pulley install. It might have had something to do with it...maybe not...only got about 44k on the car. I would also try somthing like the Redline first. See what happeneds?!?...

I just dumped some redline in the tank so we'll see what happens. I think something is still wrong somewhere. I'm running high fuel pressure still just to drive around safe. I'm going to try to swap out the fuel filter and a few hoses to be sure as well per Jim's suggestion.

The Walbro pumps cannot flow the volume of fuel necessary at the elevated fuel pressures created by the FMU.
Hopefuly the injectors work. Let us know what happens.
