I always drive to Chicago, go to the AGPC, and drive home to MI (a 2.5 hour trip). Well construction had made that short trip a 6 hour trip and now I am staying overnight at the Wyndham and taking the Amtrak with my twin girls who are 3.5 years. My DH and DS who is 8 are coming along with us but in NO WAY per both of them going to AGPC. I am looking for some ideas for what they can do in Chicago besides swim in the hotel. Any ideas would be great. My girls and are planning to eat lunch there and spend most the day at AGPC. I have everything reserved and also the train tickets bought (gosh, with the AGPC code we got 5 round trip tickets on Amtrak for $107 way cheaper than driving there and we'll be there in 2 hours-our Amtrak train station is just 10 minutes from our home and no parking fees). Any ideas would be SO helpful!

You could send them off to the Field Museum to see dinosaurs and other fun stuff.
Field Museum
I've heard good things about Navy Pier
There's the museum of Science and Industry
You may find this site helpful.
I'm sure they will have a great time while you and your girls soak up all the AG goodness!

My son and daughter-in-law and their three boys (ages 12, 9, and 7) live in Wisconsin. When they visit Chicago, their very most favorite place is the Shedd Aquarium.

Can you tell me where you found a code for the train tickets and how do you go about using it?
I have also heard people say they found hotels that gave special prices if you are visiting AGPlace, but I have no idea how they found them.

Mary--If you go on the AG website, they have the train code there. I believe it's in the "plan your trip". You just type in the code on the Amtrak website where it says "promotional code". It'll pop up with the discount.
