Ok I am working on a diorama of a fight on a bridge between 2 asian fighers. A male ronin and a fem ninja. I just was woundering how I should go about building the base (under the bridge). Should I have it look like flowing water or a still pond and how would you advise I start building that base? I have stuff to make the water from.
Mayhaps you can have some of the stones breaking away from the kung-fu hijinx, along with some pieces set in a freeze frame splashing-into-the-water deal. Makes it more dynamic and ties the whole dio into the battle. My 2 cents, G.

Well, tradiitonally when you see a bridge like that in Asian art, it would have been used over a moving body of water. The more singular hump bridges would have been used for still ponds and such.

That sounds like a nice touch... but with the waterfall present you'll need to make the water a little more choppy...
Oh this is for metal minis, I see now. Maybe the waves can be thrashing, as if they're fighting during a storm. (edit: or for the waterfall's sake as mentioned)
Aside from the water, maybe incorporate a printed image for the backdrop?
