that Chuck Finley could actually have a good year? Does he still have the ability to win 15 games? It seems to me that his confidence is shot. He actually seems to be afraid to throw the ball. It would sure be helpful to this years lineup if he actually gives us some quality starts. I know I am going to be accused of thinking negative but I think Finley is done.

Stick a fork in Finley he is finished! Get this 40 year old bum outta here! Get Nagy out of here as well! I would rather use young pitchers not garbage like UPCHUCK Finley and Nagy!

Nagy is done, but Finley isn't. He has at least 2 more 15 win seasons. If we're not in the playoff hunt this year, he gets traded at the deadline for prospects. Hopefully we can get something good in return.

The operative number in this post is 3: the number of wins Chuck will get in 2002.
0-2, 7.27 era against Seattle is not bad?
What is "bad"?

Hmm...well don't know what his ERA was during the Division Series, but I just felt watching how he pitched that despite the first inning of his first start, he pitched decent.
Remember...he gave up four runs in the first against the Mariners but after that shut them down.
You wanna lay some kind of bet on Finley winning more then 3 games barring injury? I would take that up any day.

Thanks, Mikesopp (who spent half of last year singing the praises of Wil Cordero on Fanhome).

Crank is Mikesopp? I should have known, He also loves Finley and Burba, Go ahead Mike and keep defending the pathetic 40 year old Finley and Burba. What is this love affair you have with aging pitchers that can't pitch anymore? You keep talking on numerous sites about aging pitchers taking the place of our young pitchers but for some reason you have a hard on for Finley and Burba, What don't you understand? No mystery here, neither one can pitch any longer.

Finley saved our butts in 2000.
He was the ONLY pitcher to not go on the DL, and he must have pitched 50 innings more than the next pitcher on our staff in total innings pitched.
If Finley was a "stiff"...it was only because he had a stiff neck from his bad back.
If Finley's back is OK, he will be a welcome addition this coming year.
