airbag removal question

Hey,

I'm trying to remove the passanger side airbag on my 97 civic, I have the glove compartment off and the 3 nuts removed but I don'w see a way to pull the damn thing out!!

Can somebody guide me through this procedure?? Please!!

Look at your manual to be sure, but usually those bag assemblies are pressed pretty firmly into the dash for a good cosmetic fit. Once it's been smashed in there for a while, the air bag cover sticks to the dash better than you would think, almost like it's glued in there. You'll probably just have to push from below a little harder. Again, check your manual to be certain. I'd hate for you to pushing all day long not realizing you missed a "secret bolt". http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Iworked out yesterday maybe you need my help

yeah i think i worked out one corner or side and then it popped out. why are you guys removing your airbags? i was thinking about installing some gauges in its place, but I am getting a custom fiberglass A-pillar piece made for my gauges.

94-01 tegs have 4 bolts holding it in, and it -IS- a biatch to pop out.

under my air bag was $10,000 dollars.why what was under yours,or why did you take yours out?

I just pulled out the Air bags in my 96 Civic, I had to use a pry bar to "pop" the bag loose, there are only 3 bolts and they are closest to the Glove box.

Are you wanting to sell the air bags ? email me. I have buyers.

how much does the passenger side airbag weigh? how much are they worth?

Since my Teg isn't really my daily driver anymore, I too have contemplated taking out the passenger side airbag. How much are they selling for now days???
