A pair of human feet have been found near the spot where Manic Street Preacher Richey Edwards went missing seven years ago.
An angler discovered the remains on the River Severn at Sudbrook, Monmouth. They were still inside a pair of size eight Diadora trainers.
Gwent Police are contacting the families of all missing persons, including Edwards', after the discovery.
Richey's car was found two miles away after he disappeared aged 27 in 1995.
A Gwent Police spokesperson told NME.COM: "The investigation will continue today. We're checking with the families of all missing persons. That includes Richey Edwards."
He continued: "The fact that the other foot was nearby suggests that the person had entered the water not too far away."
A spokesperson for the Manic Street Preachers is currently unavailable for comment.

Gwent Police say the human feet found near the River Severn don't belong to Richey Edwards.
The trainers containing the human remains were first manufactured in 2001.
The Manic Street Preachers star went missing in February 1995.
The investigation is continuing, although Edwards has been eliminated from the inquiry.
Detective Sergeant Dave Edwards told NME.COM: "We recently spoke to Diadora and the trainers were manufactured and distributed in 2001.
"This has helped the enquiry enormously and we've been able to eliminate a number of missing persons, including Richey Edwards of the Manic Street Preachers."
I still want to know what happened to the rest of this guy, whoever he was...
