What next?

Now that Thome is gone what's the next move for the Tribe? I'd say 1st and 3rd base are obvious holes. I really don't want to see the Tribe sign Stevens. I think it'd be about as smart as signing Brady Anderson. What does everyone think of 1B Greg Colbrunn (could also play 3B)?

If they want to sign a couple veterans to a one year deal in order to give the young guys a chance to develop, that's fine. I just hope they at least pick a couple that will be able to make it thought the year without having to be a liability.

Supposedly, 1b and 3b are two positions the Tribe currently can't use a minor leaguer for, right? Have they actually signed Karim Garcia? If so, I'd try him out at 1b. If that doesn't work, I'd think about signing Tony Clark. Last year was awful for him, but I think he should sign cheap this year. He's only 30. Strikes out too much, but so did Thome. I think he'd make a good stopgap first baseman. I thought they were going to try Ricky at 3b. If he can't play, how about Tyler Houston? He fell out of favor with the Dodgers, but I think he's a good stopgap at 3b.

If Coco really shines in spring training, I could see Karim at 1B. I'd hate to put Lawton back in right, but anything to help the line-up.

Speaking of Karim. How about a 5 year, 15 million dollar deal?
