We've got Coste (.350) and LaRocca (.301) at Buffalo. And we bring up Selby? What's going on in the front office?

Selby got a pinch hit tonight, I think. I thought he had some decent at bats the last time he was with our team.
To look on the bright side... he hit .239 for us in 2000, which is higher than our team average right now.
There really does seem to be a strong tendency to bring up guys who have been up before. I suspect that something is triggered when bringing up a pure rookie, some liability of some kind.
The Tribe will have to send someone back down when Bradley is activated soon.
Selby is unlikely to be claimed when returned thru waivers to Buffalo. It's a no risk deal. Even if they do lose Selby, no big deal.
Turns out Selby still has option left.
From Hal Lebovitz June 2;
"When Bradley returns this week, Selby, just brought up from Buffalo, will drive back. He still has one option left."
All the more reason it makes sense they chose Selby to be promoted. He's going right back to Buffalo soon.
Selby is used to playing the bench/PH position. Bringing up younger players who are used to playing everyday does hurt them in the long run and really doesn't help the ML club as much.
Hal was wrong, Jolbert Cabrera was optioned to the minors.
Selby can play second base. Anybody know about Selby's second base fielding capabilities?

just thought I'd bump this back to page one since it was Selby's two-out, grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth that beat the Yanks and Ramiro Mendoza...10-7...
Yeeeeeeeee HaaaaaaaWWWWWWW!
We may never hear from the Genius again!
