Unbelievable!! This race was perfect!! I was cruising through town on a nice Sunday night in the Integra. I was just crusing through traffic when I got stuck behind a slow Sentra with an exhaust in the left lane. Cars are passing me on the right. This red Camaro passes me up. I notice the loud exhaust. LOUD exhaust! Anyway... After that Camaropassed me on the right, there was a hole in traffic so I downshifted to 2nd and passed that slow Sentra. I am right behind the Camaro and the light up ahead turns red.......
I have two choices. I can stay behind the Camaro and chicken out or I can switch lanes and line up right next to him at the light. I am NOT one to chicken out. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
I think he noticed me when I downshifted to 2nd a punched it around that Sentra. Cuz as I pull up next to him, he gives a gentle rev. I rev back ever so gently too... Then he gives me back this MONSTER rev with his loud exhaust. It was then that I looked on his fromt fender and saw the SS badge. Uh oh... I gotta admit. That sh*t fuggin scared me! I am rocking the revs back and forth gently between 1500-2500RPM...
Light switches green. Here we go... I got a good start thanks to my worn down BFG drag radials. But top end still sets em spinning a little and he gains ground. I shift to 2nd gently (to a avoid wheelspin) and get back on it. I am pulling even with him and then my tires start squeeling for mercy at ~6500RPM in 2nd. I said fuggit and let it spin like that to redline since I am still pulling ahead of him. The shift to 3rd comes and here is where I gain major ground. I sh*t you not!! I didn't jusr edge him on him either! I pulled on him bad! I shut down at ~90MPH (top of 3rd gear) and I'd say I put 1.5-2 cars distance between us from 45 to 90MPH.
We both slow down and his passenger asks me..., "What you got in there?!?" The driver asks if it's a 6. I said, "Nope. It's a turbo 1.8L four." The passenger says something like, "See! I can do it too!" I guess he has an import maybe? Anyway. The race ended cool. We waved and went our seperate ways. I was so pumped up afterwards! All jumping up and down in my seat and sh*t!! That was the first time I had lined up next to Camaro V8 like that at a light when conditions were absolutely perfect. Oh man. I love my car. I bet that guy was thinking at that light..., "Oh man I'm gonna kick that little car's ass!" good kill, those things r scarry fast, i met a 2000 SS and he beat me by a length from both a punch and a stop, and i run high 12's!!! very impressive

Makes sense, your car would probably trap 110 at the track, and LS1s generally trap 105-107, plus he had a passenger. Altogether thats about 2-3 cars to 90 mph.

Great Kill Marc... I don't know if you all remember but I had a simular post awhile back but I got my ass handed to me on a platter off the line http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif That is awsome. Some guy I met yesterday had some BFG COMP TA DRAG RADIALS on his 00' itr and is running a 14.5 w/ vtec controler and gears that is all!! I think I need to invest in drag radials myself just for the front of course. How much were yours??

Hey gsrev. I think I remember that ITR from the Houston races. His times were crazy fast for just those mods.
The drag radials are awesome. I thought that SS was gonna KILL me off the line. But we started pretty even, he only slightly pulled ahead when I spun a little at the top of 1st gear. They hook up like crazy compared to my old Dunlop SP8000's. I have the BFG drag radials in 205/50R15 on my stock rims. They cost about $110 from tirerack. They are sticky, but they wear out VERY fast. I'm talking like new tires every oil change.
