hey all i did it i joined the United States Army
I took the tests and everything Just Yesterday and all
And i signed the Contract there also
The scary part is i Qualified to an Army Ranger
And the Scrarier part is I Took the Job of being an Army Ranger
(in training of course i still hafta go through Basic. go through air Borne and Then Pass Ranger School)
Ok well i Just thought id say im leaving in 3 days
So in three days This is Indeed a last Goodbye For good
mind you Im doing this For my Family
So Im gonna be gone for a while
and when i get back im going to be Stationed In Germany
So everybody i aint laving yet i just thought id Give everybody a Heads Up

Well ive gotta take care of my Family and the Army is the Best way to go
hell free Medical and Dental Care, 30 days vacation with pay each year
Tax free housing and Food Allowances
What more can you ask for?

but its the best way i know how to get Enough Money to take care of my family

its been awhile since i been in the armed forces but last i knew, the free medical shit wasjust for you, in other words not your fiance...
wife is a different story, i might be wrong but id check into it man.
i know they move familys around and shit, but is she gonna be able to move with you?
and shit your boy will be grown before you get to know him.
sides you dont really make any money in the service, it just seems like you do cause they pay for everything

What would you need to make money for if they pay for everything anyway?

he wanted to make money for his family, which im not dogging the reason, but hell their are other ways to make money, besides signing away your body and soul, which is pretty much what he did.

Trust me, I don't think the army is the best choice to make money either but for some people it is. A friend of mine who is not so smart decided to join the marines here because he knew he'd never have a carreer where he could afford to see the world, now he's been to Brasil, to Vegas, to Spain, to the Caribean, to Africa, he sky dived... He got paid doing it too, paid well and fed gallons of free beer.
All from the taxes I pay.
But seriously I'd rather pick a profession where I wouldn't have to go into war when one breaks out.
Note: I'm not saying that only stupid people join the army, I think in Holland it's more or less true because getting an education that will get you a well paying job isn't very expensive here. We have a flat rate for colleges here and I know in the U.S. it's slightly different and you have to be a lot better off to be able to afford to get a college education.

The Millitary: Marines = Bullet Catchers; Army = Cannon Fodder; Navy = Drowned Rats; Air Force = Laid Back Bums
For those of us who have had a rather lousy millitary career we of course are not going to have much good to say on the subject. But there are a lot of people who do like what they're doing. But if you are going to get involved with the millitary it's probably best to at least take on an MOS that will provide you with skills you can use on the outside. Knowing how to shoot a gun or a tank doesn't really get you very far once you're time of service is up. They do provide office jobs (They're all you can really get when you're color blind... fuckers) and though they don't seem respectable when you could be blowing shit up day in and day out they will provide you with enough skill to get a good paying job once you've decided to take your own life back.
vampiro; As far as the benefits go, if the girl's only your fiance, she won't get shit. Your kid, taken care of. You, just don't get injured and you'll be better off. But good luck to you in whatever field of expertise you have chosen.
