I had asked this question in another topic but thought that it might be better under it's own topic in case others are wondering about it too.
In Tracy's pictures of the traveling Lindsey, a couple of photos showed her Lindsey wearing glasses, and that got me to wondering about it.
How do you get AG glasses to stay on a doll? My daughter seems to think that you sort of "hook it" on their hair. A friend of my daughter has Molly and she has told my daughter that the glasses don't stay on very well. Her friend sort of "hooks" them into Molly's hair. Is it true the AG glasses don't stay on well? Do you hook them in the doll's hair to stay on?
Tracy's pictures of her Lindsey in glasses were so cute (really brought out her blue eyes!), that I am considering getting glasses for my Lindsey for her to wear sometimes, maybe while watching TV. (I hope you don't mind that I might "copycat" you, Tracy. [img]smile.gif[/img] )I have to wear glasses when watching TV, and thought that Lindsey and I could each wear our glasses together. [img]wink.gif[/img]

When we got our first AGoT for our daughter nine years ago, we bought glasses for her because our Judy wore glasses, too. The glasses then had straight temples (side pieces) with tips similar to the tips on bobby pins to help them stay on better. Those glasses work great - go on easy and stay in place. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] From the picture on the AG website (here) it appears that their AGoT glasses still come in this style.
The glasses that came with my new Molly had curved temples - the kind that are supposed to hook around the ears. But the temples are a little too long, so the glasses don't sit right on her face. [img]graemlins/thumbs_down.gif[/img] Maybe you can bend them down a little if you heat the metal, but I haven't been brave enough to try.

i've never had any trouble keeping the glasses on my molly or AGoT dolls. the ends of the ear pieces seem to just rest on top of the doll's ears. molly's are a little messed up and don't stay on too well, but that's mostly because i stepped on them when i was younger.

Meg, do your Molly's glasses curve around at the ends, or are they straight like the current AGoT's? I think it is the curve at the end of the temples that causes the fitting problems. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Thanks Jeanette and meg for your input. I clicked on the link Jeanette provided to the AGT glasses and see how they have a straight temple. If I were to get any glasses, it would be the AGT ones.
The next time I see my friend's daughter with her Molly, I'll have to look at the glasses.
