Man, i hate this idiot. For those that don't know he made the movies KIDS, GUMMO, and JULIA DONKEY-BOY. I saw the first two.
It seems to me that he can only write **** to SHOCK people. When i first saw KIDS i was like 12 or something, and i loved it because i felt like my mind was raped.
But i saw it again now that I'm 18 and it was so fu**ing terrible. I felt like i was supposed to be shocked. But the whole film just seemed idiotic to me. He was like 18 or 19 when he wrote the script. I think he just wrote down all the stuff that turns him on, fu**ing perve. For the record: I like how the film was made and Chloe Sevigny's acting. As for the script, i have no respect or it because it was written with the wrong intentions.
GUMMO. What he f*ck was this? Just a bunch of hillbillys, once again written for the sole purpose to shock the viewer.
Call me ignorant but Korine's films are just meant to shock, exploit and boost his own ego. It's all **** .
And what the f*ck is this...Julian Donekey-Boy a DOGME film????? I saw that **** on DVD in BLOCKBUSTER (Blockbuster is a video-renting chain). Now he's trying to be all "Oooh, I'moriginal cuz' I'm a DOGME film-maker".

kids is an awful movie... and anyone who writes a script where a 13(or whatever age) kid near kills someone and later on spouts the line "fuckins all i got, take it away from me and i got nothing" is out only to shock...

i'm 16 and today at school a girl my age announced she was pregnant, no joke. So I ask, was Kids made to make people aware of these problems? Because when I watched it, I just felt like I was walking around with a video camera filming **** that happens in my life. Believe me, I don't kill people with skateboards or give people aids, but my friends do to a lesser extent. Do I want to watch a movie that is pretty much what happens in my life? No. only good thing about Kids is the main characters voice. "Man I love virgin pussay. No skank, no diseases, just fine *** ***** " while he spits everwhere like a retard. Anyone can make a movie that shocks. I could make a film about a retard getting beaten up by a bunch of skinheads, but thats not a good film just because you feel sorry for the kid.
I heard that the director overheard some kids talking at a cafe and based it on them.

I thought that kids was pretty good, not great, but enough good to watch. Then again I'm usually atracted to comedies like Kids for example Clockwork Orange was a nice little piece of comedy.

kids was awful, but larry clarks other movie (after one day in paradise) - bully was okay... kinda the same sh1t though, just wants people to watch and think "fuckin hel, this is really risky, crazy film-making... it must be art!"... although most people realise that his work is just out to shock, an unfortunate few mistake poor shock tactics with cutting edge, risque artistry.
i read his photography work was pretty much the same, young kids doing drugs, and shagging, o well, i reckon kids is the movie equivalent of cutting up a cow, and calling it art... it's just a way of getting some attention...
