I've heard several different takes on this and I'm curious if I'm about to hear several more http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif I am about to install a Drag Gen III turbo kit in my 96 LS. I'll be running ~6 psi. I will be moving back home to Northern VA here soon and I will have to face the emissions check. If I have the turbo setup correctly, and nothing else modified will I pass emissions? I am told by a reliable source that I should have no problems but I'm curious to hear other peeps experiences. Thanks!

I work for the RMV in Mass. and oversee the enhanced emission and safety program for the central region of the state. My car with a supercharger passed with flying colors. If your turbo kit is CARB certified and installed correctly, I don't see any reason why your car wouldn't pass.

jpcaudill: whaz UP!--hey sucka yo drag gen3 turbo aint carb legal certified so yo azz is f--ked! if ya have ta face da smogmann...labeled a gross f--k'n polluter and make yo dumbazz go in every yr. ta have that shitz checked outty at a ref station. so ya plan'n on rip'n that P.O.S. turbo outty every 2yrs? f--k that! da only legit turbo kit is da Greddy but, they azz is still pending on they carb approval and the JRSC is da only FI shitz thats carb legal...that i be know'n bout for da h/a. think before ya ACT...

Hey Code, laws are much different here in Northern, VA with regards to cars than in draconian California.

I passed visual inspection with turbo. I don't know if the inspector knew what was up or not. Just make sure you have PCV hooked up, they are anal about that.
