I just put the supercharger on my GSR about three weeks ago with Jim's 9psi stepper pulley and now it's making like a squeling and whinning noise, and it sounds like it is coming from the blower pulley. it only happens at idle and when I'm driving it sounds normal. I bought the supercharger from CKIM who used to post on here a lot and he never told me of any problems out of it. Now I guess the question is: Could it just be worn out bearings from one of the idler pullies or could I need to have the blower rebuilt.
When I bought it, it looked brand new and CKIM said that it only had 6-7k on the supercharger. It didn't do it till about a week ago and sometimes it does it off and on.
We had to tighten the crank to alternater belt because it was pretty loose then it started doing real bad all the time.
Any help and tips on what I should try to do to fix it are greatly appreciated. Thanks

just a too loose/tight belt id imagine.....no biggie. Some people say belt dressing/anti-squeal is a big NO-NO, but hell, your belt only lasts about 10,000 miles anyway, so hey, ROT-AWAY!
I got frustrated many times, and popped the hood and just SPIT(yes, spit)on the top of the blower pulley/belt and it quit squealing for 500 or so miles.
Either way, id say your fine.

I wish you still had your car so we could run them.
Did you ever get any noise that sounds like you just clogged the hose on a vaccum cleaner? because that is what it kind of sounds like. It almost sounds like it's inside the blower itself but I doubt it greatly.
Thanks for the reply Tony.

My car made lotsa weird sounds.....just keep checking the spark plugs, go run the dragstrip twice a month........if something starts becoming "irregular" its time to start worrying. As long as the car ran same dragtimes/MPH, i ASSumed everything was in check.
Hey, what can i say, you know me man......IM GHETTO TO DA'FULLES'!
P.S. Just run the car on the rich side...you may lose some HP, but does 10hp really matter?! It didnt the 6 years i ran mine

Yea, it just kinda worries me sometimes because half the time I don't know where the sounds are coming from, and that seems to bother me a little. Did you ever have to replace any of the idler pullies because the bearings wore out. What are some other little problems that happened to your car?

belts, sparkplugs, and idler pullies(i had the aluminum ones, the surfaces developed grooves)..........thats all.
