Sigh, I just get here and realize that I won't be back for about a week. Going on a road trip to Houston to see The Museum of Funeral History (I feel the need to see what lies ahead in my future ) , The Forbidden Garden, The Space Center and whatever other oddities I can find along the way. Hoping to also stop at the theater down there and see Spun since I am sure it will never make it to Kansas. On the way back the only stops that I have planned at the moment is Bayou Bob's Rattlesnake ranch outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Hopefully I will have plenty of stories and pics when I get back. I leave early in the morning so if anyone has any other things they think I should stop and see let me know before 5am cst tomorrow. This is a spur of the moment trip so any help with finding other cool stuff is appreciated.
AsIs-- Yep I am who you think I am. Sorry I missed you on AIM but I left it on while I was rushing around getting stuff ready to go and forgot about it being on .

Sounds like loads of fun. Wish I could take a spur of the moment trip.

Dave, no problem, have a great trip!

Dave, the only place I know you should go is the Space Centre but you already said you were going there. I made a special effort to go there when I was in town and it was definitely worth the trip. If you have the time, you should plan to spend a whole day or at least a half day there. There is so much to see and you can take an official tour which is really awe inspiring too. I don't know what its like there now, but when I went to see it, they ahd just finished shooting Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks, and still had bits of the set up. That was cool.
Boy, that was kind of a ramble.

Have fun, and watch out for crazed ninja lesbians. I hear they crawl all over Texas...

Don't know if I saw any while I was down there. If i did they didn't announce themselves.
Unfortanetly what sounds good in the planning phase tends to go wrong in real life. I drove 12 hours to Houston mainly to see to the Museum of Funeral Home History. Upon arrival I found out they were closed this week for remodeling. Nothing on their website suggested this was going to happen. I decided to make the best of it and check out some of the outdoor sites Forbidden Garden etc. That is when the torrential rain started. Still undaunted I decided to spend the rest of the day at the Space Center. While it was interesting there are someplaces you just should not go alone. After a couple hours of watching couples and families having fun and me the creepy guy by himself sticking out like a sore thumb I finally gave up and started the drive home. Oh well at least I had an enjoyable drive back and forth.

*hugs* and Happy Birthday David.

Dave, believe me, I remember the whole being surrounded by happy couples while alone thing. Just remember, some day, they will be alone and single, and you will have the significant other of your dreams, and you can go to public places where they can see you, and you will have your revenge.
But really, torrential rain in Texas on the day you show up? Have you pissed off any deities recently, cause this is sounding like it's personal.

Hmm. None that I know of but it is possible. The rain did stop shortly after I left town.
