Woa! I've heard guys on here speak highly of him, but all I saw of him was a video someone posted of him playing simple blues at a gig. I had NO idea he was such a chops monster. Well, this solo is truly inspiring stuff. Probably you've all heard it unless it's a new one since drummerworld seems to have updated a few different profiles recently.

Yeah Dave is such a find. Thanks to Shedder for hipping us to him. I'd love to study with him.

That mp3 is great. A little heavy on the bass drum but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Thanks so much for that, Andy! That is awesome!!

Yes, he has great chops but more importantly, he has feel, time and metric mod skills as good as anyone's. I saw him play a gig with a Bluesy guitarist named Johnny Z and he always played musically. His few solos were killer with wonderful dynamics and a great use of buzzes. On a few occasions, he'd be playing a groove while his hi-hat would be in another time signature. Subtle but incredible.

Thanks for the info, Rudy.
Dicenso is one of the few drummers whose drum-solos (like this one) i can (wish-want-enjoy) listen from start to finish without viewing the clock or stopping the clip.
I have searched on this forum all the files about him. More would be great.
I really love this guy.

At http://www.archive.org type in Two Ton Shoe in the search field. There are now 12 concerts available for download. Check out the Cambridge show at House of Blues with DiCenso!
According to Jim, the guy who posted these, "All recordings except the 12/9/2001 (Harpers Ferry) and the 3/16/2002 Dave DiCenso played drums on."
